from Permaculture to Vipassana
June 2015, Volunteering at Solitude farm in Pondicherry gave me an insight into permaculture and enabled me to appreciate the laborious efforts, extensive planning and tremendous patience required to produce organic food. Over the past few years my relationship with food and, by extension, with nature & mama earth has strengthened leading to food choices that are simple, authentic, chemical and cruelty free. Eating these foods completely changed my life and as a result I've became more mindful of my lifestyle choices. What started with the simple question of whats on my plate? translated in to the bigger question of ‘what’s on my heart and mind; because we truly become the foods we choose to eat.
The practice of Vipassana (insight mediation) took root in me simultaneously (under the guidance of my teacher Patrick Kearney) which enabled me to savour each moment, live my life to its' truest potential, be more alive with every passing breath and most importantly be present. The meditation practise allowed me to heal from my deepest wounds and insecurities while the food helped me create a body I feel strong and beautiful in. Food really is medicine; and I'm so excited to share this transformational journey with you; to help you achieve a happy heart-mind aka citta; free from any afflictions and be the best version of yourself!
My Raw Vegan food journey began in 2012 when my mum, Priti Shroff, a fellow raw foodist gave me the book "Sunfood Diet Success System by David Wolfe." It's been such a blessing to learn so much from her about alternative healing therapies and work out of her wellness space, Prisim Healing Institute over the past years. She encouraged me to pursue a raw vegan foods chef training from Bali, become certified Sound Healer and connect with angels, guides and so much more.

Hi! Thank you for stumbling upon my page. Prana Kitchen is the offspring of my journey into wellbeing. Since it's a journey (and not a destination) it’s a constant work-in-progress which is evolving, growing, changing and maturing, along with me. In Aug 2016, I quit my job; that of an investment banker, to pursue something that truly set my heart’ on fire. I started with a plan to open a raw vegan cafe but found myself wanting to explore yoga more deeply at the same time. I studied yoga from the 8th std under the beautiful Ms. Sanjana who took me to Sri Ramana Maharishi’s Ashram (Tiruvanmalai), Sri Aurobindo Ashram and Matri Mandir. It is this foundation that I owe my deepest gratitude to; for sowing the seeds that have sprouted into the lifestyle I wish to share with all of you. In 2017 I undertook the Yoga Diploma Course from Kaivalyadhama to deepen my understanding of Yogic Sciences and have been practising various styles of Yoga by different gurus in Mysore, Bali, Rishikesh, Kodaikanal, Pondicherry etc
I believe that, like the moon, all of us have phases. I enjoy putting my baking skills to test around the full moon and creating guilt free indulgences to comfort myself & my fellow LUNAtics during this generally rough phase.. cos there’s nothing (vegan) cake can’t solve. I am a sun-worshipper, intuitive kinda chef who enjoys the natural high of eating raw living foods. When I had free time in college I would solar cook beautiful meals that were filled with all their natural goodness plus an extra dose of sun energy.
